Way To Go!

I had to take a minute to congratulate my hubbie on a job well done at work. His program at work is, to quote his boss, " As complicated as it gets". He was able to get the first phase signed off on in January and they have been working hard to get phase two ready for briefing. They accomplished this in record time and the plan sailed through its approval!!! His Boss was pleased "Excellent Burke and team - great follow-through!" I agree!! Great job leading your team honey. Burke was worried about getting such a big, complicated program right out of training but he has proved his worth and completed the toughest part...getting his program approved!!

Husband Tag

My husband treated me to a wonderful evening for Valentines; Dinner and Dancing at the Double Tree Hotel. (an Air Force event) It was so much fun. Dancing the night away with my sweet heart reminded me just how much I love him!!!! So I thought I would do a tag all about my true love.

5 things he loves:

1. His Girls (that includes me too!)

2. His Country

3. Guns

4. Trucks

5. Tools

5 things on his to do list:

1. Replace the front Axel on his car

2. Rebuild his Truck

3. Buy a new chain saw so he can amass an even larger pile of wood

4. Further weather proof our home from the New England Cold

5. Earn his 13 promotion so we can move some where warmer

5 things he like to eat:

1. Country Fried Steak he orders it at almost every restaurant but he still says mine is his favorite ( isn't that sweet)

2. A really really good bacon cheeseburger with Jalapenos

3. Apricot Chicken

4. Red Hot Dogs??

5. Hot Tamales

5 things you may not know about him:

1. He wants to own his own an auto repair shop someday

2. He has a fantastic sense of humor.

3. He is a World War II buff (yep he actually read a few books on the subject)

4. He is NOT a reader

5. He loves to drive especially 18 wheelers. The two of us would actually go out on the road together before the kiddies came along.

5 places he's lived:

1. Sandy

2. South Carolina

3. Salt Lake

4. Massachusetts

5. The double tree hotel in Florida

5 quirky things about him:

1. He can't stand funny textures in food

2. He is very particular about his ties. He has been known to give away perfectly good ties because they "just don't tie right" or they are "too busy".

3. He does not like sticky or crumby messes. When he spots one he will stop whatever he is doing to clean it up.

4. He is very protective of his vehicles. He never misses an oil change or tire rotation. He does not drive fast and will swerve any which way to avoid a pot hole.

5. He falls asleep during movies, even really good movies.

What's for Dinner?

I was not looking forward to dinner last night. Bored of our menu and wanting to try something new I opened the fridge and poured over the contents. By the time Burke came home I was cooking up a storm. The menu...

Cheese Stuffed Chicken Breast topped with Shrimp in a Lemon Butter Cream Sauce served with a Wilted Spinach and Mushroom Orzo.

Burke called it a keeper and even the girls liked it.
Thanks Mom and Dad for teaching me how to cook!

Keeping the Winter Blues at Bay

Susanna was captivated by the "football players"

She made a friend:)

Spirit week at school has brought many smiles to Jennah's face. These picture are from Hat day.

The girls woke up to Valentines Surprises Saturday Morning. They loved opening the thoughtful Valentines that were sent. Thank You!
Over the next few days Jennah enjoyed watching her rose bloom. She can't wait for sprint when we can plant flowers in our yard.

Jennah wanted to post a picture of her favorite "pet". She earned this little bunny by being obedient and pleasant during our drive to and from Florida.

Nothing like a good book to brighten your day.

Liddy Ann Six Months

Wow I can't believe I am writing this post!!!
Six months has gone by so fast and Liddy is reaching important mile stones.

Picks up her own food
(although it doesn't always make it in her mouth)

Scoots backward and in a circle on her tummy
Rolls from her tummy to her back

She is as happy, noisy and cute as ever!!

Rocky

Our friends the Brimhals got a cute hamster named Hunter. A couple weeks later he had babies....yep Hunter was a mommy. They were able to give away all but one and the poor little guy was living in a box since his Mommy did not like him any more. We decided to give him a proper home. I found a cage complete with food and bedding on Craigs List. Rocky now lives happily on Jennah's desk and we have all fallen in love with the cute little fur ball.

Jennah loves to watch Rocky play in all the "rooms" in his "house"

Sunny Florida

Burke has been traveling to Melbourne FL for business a few days each month and we could not turn down the opportunity to escape the cold January weather a go with him. He arranged it so that he could get reimbursed for driving down rather then flying. All we had to pay for was our food, a few extra hotel nights and our entertainment!! We had so much fun. I hope you enjoy our travel log....

The Drive

We headed out a 5AM Saturday January 24 and cruised over the George Washington Bridge by 8:30.

There was no traffic as we waved hello to NYC from New Jersey.
We had lunch at the Dairy Queen in Maryland before we made our way past...
Washington DC
Again we were lucky with no traffic and made it to the Henrich house in Richmond VA by 4 PM.
The girls had a blast playing with Josh and Sam. It was great to catch up with Frank and Melanie, whom we had not seen for five years.

We left Sunday Afternoon and drove to Savannah GA. We stopped and had dinner at this classic BBQ joint in SC. Our hotel in Savannah was beautiful and we enjoyed driving through the historic district the next morning before hitting the road once again.
The girls were fantastic on the trip. They watched a ton of movies and we tried to find them spots were they could run around when we had to stop to feed Liddy.

They can turn anything into a castle.

We rolled into Melbourne at 2PM and I was so glad we finally made it! We drove 25 hours in three days.

Florida

Melbourne

We spent four gorgeous days in Melbourne. The weather was warm, the hotel beautiful, and the company couldn't have been more entertaining.

This is the view that greeted us from our balcony when we settled in on Monday.

I love watching the sun rise over the ocean.

Especially when you can enjoy it while you are lying in bed!

The girls were thrilled with their view too.

Liddy was all smiles after sleeping the whole night in her porta-crib

Our first day on the beach

We joined Burke's work associates for dinner at a legendary Melbourne seafood joint. Jennah and I had shrimp and crab yummy!

The girls didn't understand the rules of shuffleboard but hey had fun anyway

I took the girls swimming the next day and manged by myself by putting Liddy in her "sleepy wrap". This wrap was an absolute life saver. I wore Liddy everywhere and she loves her wrap so much. Once I get her all snuggled in she falls right to sleep. When she is awake she is still happy in the wrap because she can see everything, I can talk to her, give her kisses and she feels so secure. The wrap made it possible for us to have fun when Burke was working. Normally you wear both straps on your shoulder. I moved it down so you could see Liddy's face in the picture. The little bumps on the sides are her feet all tucked up and cozy.

More fun hanging out in the hotel suite

On Thursday I took the girls to the Zoo. They had so much fun and loved seeing all the animals.

You can't go to Florida without seeing Alligators

More swimming with Daddy

Our last time on the beach
