On the Road Again

We hit the road bright and early the next morning so we could arrive in Columbia SC by the afternoon. Burke served his LDS mission there over 10 years ago. We stayed with his dear friend Irene Goretski. She and her late husband Dan cooked for the missionaries when they arrived at the Mission Home and opened their house to the office elders for meals. Burke served in the mission office for a year and they became especially close. The Goretski's came to our wedding in 2001. Irene was so excited to meet our girls and catch up. She was a wonderful host and made us all sorts of goodies and sent us away with wonderful presents. We truly love her and can't wait to see her soon.

Jennah had fun cooking her favorite breakfast...

Pancakes with whipped cream, blueberries and sausage.

We took the girls to see the mission office where Daddy served his mission before we drove to Richmond. Nothing had changed since he left 10 years ago.....

We stayed at the Henrich house once again. We were truly grateful for their hospitality since we snuck out at 4AM to hit the road. We knew a storm was rolling in so we wanted to get an early start on what took us 11 hours to drive a week before. Good thing we left early. With snow and detours 11 hours turned into 17!!! The girls did amazingly well and we were relieved when we finally made it home safely at 9 pm. All in all it was a spectacular trip and a huge success considering the length of time we spent driving with pleasant children. We would do it again in a heart beat. There is nothing more wonderful then a fun filled family vacation!

So So Fun!!! I'm glad you guys were able to do that, sounds like such a good time. I keep telling BJ we should go to disney land but he says the kids are too little and we should wait. I say they will have a BLAST little or not, there's always time to go again when they are older right! glad you got home safe!
