We wrapped up our Church History tour today by stopping for lunch in Liberty Missouri.
Liberty Jail
It was a very humbling experience to gaze upon the reconstructed cell and imagine what it was like for the Prophet and his apostles to suffer there for over four months.
It was here that the Prophet received personal and tender revelations from the Lord that are a blessing to me when I feel troubled and alone.
"Peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment; And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes….The Son of Man hath descended below them all. Art thou greater than he?"
We spent the night at a KOA in Joplin MO.
J..h’s swimming improes every time we hit the pool.
Tonight she jumped in all on her own.
She was inspired by our Biddy fish. No six year old wants to be out done by their baby sister!
When Biddy jumps she goes all the way under water and comes up grinning. She says “jump” and points to the edge of the pool so she can go again.
I just wish Biddy’s enthusiasm for the water would rub off on S..a too!
They had a great fish pond and both girls caught something.
S..a got a really big cat fish but wouldn’t go near it.
J..h’s favorite catch was a cute little turtle.
We had the honor of staying in the “Great Escape Lodge” a converted single wide trailer. It was very clean –still smelled of fresh paint- but not what we were expecting.
The camouflage curtains are “hand made” but I didn’t dare ask where the futon cover came from.
Don’t worry the grenades aren’t real they are just salt and pepper shakers. Does any one know if Steve McQueen is Jewish?
The girls loved their “great escape” room since it had twin beds
Burke’s favorite decoration was the ammunition box en-table. He felt right at home in our single-wide!
