August 2006

Written August 15, 2006

We are doing our best to keep cool here in Boston. The
"heat wave" is over now but we did have a scorcher for
a couple of days. Thank goodness for air conditioners
or we would have melted. Our electricity bill is
going to be through the roof! Jennah doesn't mind it
when it is hot because we usually go play in the
water. Arlington a has some really fun "spray parks".
They are perfect for little toddlers because they can
get wet without going swimming( too much work for me
with a nursing baby). In the evenings we pack up our
stroller and go to Spy pond park. We have a little BBQ
and then wade in the pond. Jennah loves the water!! A
couple of weekends ago we got invited to College Pond
by David and Debbie. David is Grandpa Park's nephew
or my Mother's cousin. That makes him my first cousin
once removed. We had a fabulous time. They are
grandparents so they knew just how to have fun with
Jennah. She had a great time. She spent over 6 hours
in the water. David called her his little fish.
David also took Burke sailing. Debbie and I had a nice
time sunbathing and chatting about our wonderful
families. Later in the day their daughter Rachel(my
second cousin) and her children came. It was so fun
to spend the day with family and we loved the cabin!!
Burke is in Las Vegas right now at the AF Base. He is
observing a war-time scenario where they will be
flying the fighter jets dropping missiles and all that
cool stuff. He gets to sit in the control room with
the big computer screen and watch all the little green
dots just like in the movies!! We miss him terribly
but are doing just fine. I have little angels!!
Susanna is sleeping great and loves to smile and play
with her activity mat. She can reach up and grab the
rings. Jennah's new favorite song is "Happy
Birthday" She puts the blue funnel on her head like a
Birthday hat and runs around the house singing. She
tries to put the hat "funnel" on Susanna and say
"Happy Birthday Susanna" it is sooo cute. The other
day Jennah locked Susanna and I outside. My neighbor
has our spare keys so I had to wait for him to get
home from work. After a few minutes of panic(on
Jennah's side) we settled in and had a fun afternoon
passing gold fish, animal crackers, and smarties under
the crack in the door( I had the diaper bag on my
side) Susanna fell asleep in her carrier and Jennah
and I read books. She would slide the book under the
door and I would read the page then slide it back so
she could look at the picture and so forth. Claudio
was sure surprised to see us sitting in the hall. All
turned out well and I learned a lesson. Jennah can
lock the door but has no clue how to unlock it!!!!
Well that is all for now. We hope all of you are
having a great summer. We miss hanging out with all
of you. We love you tons!!! Enjoy the pictures
