Hi everyone we have been busy here in Boston and want
to share some highlights with all of you. Kathleen
(Burke's mom) came to visit on the 28th. We went to
Lexington and Concord to visit the Battle green, the
Old North Bridge and Battle Road. Jennah found a
friend at the Hartwell Tavern (see picture) and
Susanna slept the whole time. On Saturday we traveled
to New Bedford the whaling capitol of the world in the
late 19th century. We saw the museum and went to the
beach. We then went to the Scituate light house.
Sunday was Susanna's blessing day. She looked so
beautiful in the dress grandma Craven gave her. We
wished all of you could have been there to hear Burk's
beautiful blessing. He blessed her with a healthy body
, a sharp mind, and a receptive spirit. He also
blessed her that she would follow the example of her
parents and older sister. We will try to be the best
examples we can be. Jennah is already setting a great
example we only hope Susanna will be just as good as
she is. She survived a 5 hour round trip to Sharon
Vermont that day with only a minor meltdown. We all
felt the peace at the birth place of the prophet.
Even Susanna woke up and did not cry at all. On
Monday we toured Harvard University and then went to
the Boston Pops 4th of July spectacular. And it was
spectacular. Even though it was the dress rehearsal
the program was the same and it was just as patriotic.
Jennah danced all night long waving her little
American flag and clapping to the music. Susanna
stayed wide eyed and happy listening. On Tuesday we
kicked of our Independence day at Bunker Hill and a
visit to Charleston Navy yard. We saw the U.S.S.
Constitution sail out to the harbor(which she only does
once a year on the 4th of July) We then walked the
freedom trail stopping at the Old north church, Paul
reveres house, and authentic Italian lunch and Quincy
Market. It was a fabulous day and the perfect way to
end Kathleen's visit. This past weekend we went to
the ward camp out at Camp Joseph in Sharon Vermont.
The tour guide recognized us from the weekend before.
We love Sharon Vermont!! The camp was gorgeous and
our little cabin made it easy. The girls were great
and Jennah loved playing in the "waters of mormon"
pond. On the way home last night we sopped at Quechee
gorge and a picturesque Vermont skiing town called
Woodstock. So as you can see we are having way too
much fun. We would love to hear what fun things all
of you have been doing this summer. Enjoy all the
pics. We love you and miss you all!!!
